University of Connecticut - Ice Hockey Arena

Ellana provided cost estimating services to the Ice Hockey Arena at the UConn campus. We were fortunate to join the preliminary design team at SD phase of the project to provide cost consulting. The arena was planned to be a design-build project, so our team was contracted to provide preliminary documents that would then be utilized by the design and construction team from DD through CA phase.

Our project team worked to develop a state-of-the-art design that would appeal to both devoted hockey fans and casual spectators. The new 2,300+ seat arena includes concession space, a high definition AV system, and a mezzanine club. The mezzanine club level, which offers guests a perfect view of the ice also features a cocktail bar and high-level interior finishes. The standard-level concessions were constructed as shell space and will allow vendors of all kinds the opportunity to fit out the individual kiosks. Our estimate for the project puts it at $21,800 per seat with all of the associated new site-work, utilities, and landscaping included.
