CUNY LaGuardia Community College, Cohen Career Collective

The Cohen Career Collective renovation project is a 160,000 SF state-of-the-art workforce training center at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City. The Cohen Career Collective includes specialized shops, labs, and classrooms for hands-on instruction and training. Study areas, student meeting rooms, a Career Services Center, computer labs, a lecture hall, storage areas, restrooms, locker rooms, mechanical rooms, electrical/data closets, and a Student Welcome Center are also featured in the design.
The center will be housed at C Building at 29-10 Thomson Avenue, originally built in 1913 as the Sunshine Biscuit Company. The fifth and sixth floor of this building will be renovated to accommodate the Cohen Career Collective. The project will meet LEED Silver standards.
Ellana served as cost estimator for this project. Our estimates included pricing for demolition, elevators, electrical / mechanical / plumbing service upgrades, and laboratory equipment.
