SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology - New Academic Building

Ellana provided cost estimating services for the construction of a new state-of-the-art academic building at FIT’s 7th Avenue and 28th Street campus. The 110,000 SF, 12-story building consists of classrooms, specialty labs, student café and lounge, a large atrium, faculty offices, and necessary support spaces. The building contains two cellar levels requiring a secant pile and sheet pile walls for support of excavation. Buildings systems consist of a caisson foundation system, steel superstructure, and a metal panel and curtain wall facade. Interiors cover all necessary partitions, finishes, millwork, and MEP systems. Additionally the project required partial renovation to the adjacent building to accommodate the connection with the new structure.
