CUNY Medgar Evers College Founders Hall Expansion

Founders Hall at Medgar Evers College is the main gathering space on the college’s campus. The awarded design team expanded and upgraded the building which entailed the expansion of the venue’s seating capacity as well as new theatrical and building systems and the aesthetic enhancement of the auditorium. Ellana provided cost estimates for this cultural project. Improvements include:

  • Transforming Founders Hall into a “Signature Space”, providing an audience capacity of 1000-1500 people.

  • Providing a suitably sized stage for theatre productions, dance/music events, commencements and lectures with ADA access.

  • Introducing near-professional level audio-visual control room, lighting rigs and catwalks.

  • Providing an enhanced back-of-house area.
