Turtle Back Zoo Alligator and Komodo Dragon Exhibit

Cost estimating for a new 2,100-square-foot pavilion exhibit to house alligators and Komodo dragons. The new exhibit contains an indoor pool resembling a swampy area. In addition, the pool will have a split view to display alligators floating about water level or underwater. The Komodo dragon area will feature a southeast Asian theme with thatched roof, landscaped with reeds, and a sandy area to match the native habitat of Komodo dragon. The current alligators at Turtle Back Zoo will be relocated to the Bronx Zoo for the time being and Komodo dragon remain in the reptile building. The scope of work includes foundations, pool structures, basement construction, roofing, exteriors and interiors construction, MEP work, HVAC design, site improvement, site mechanical utilities, and site electrical utilities.
