South Division Firehouse Relocation

Worcester, MA

The existing South Division Firehouse will be relocated to 25 Madison Street in Worcester. The new 30,000 SF firehouse will also feature a 4,000 SF backup Emergency Communications Center which includes an 18-seat call center for 911 services and radio communications. The design uses firehouse and emergency communications best practices and supports healthy indoor air quality, gender equality, training, and security.

The new structure features energy use reduction strategies such as minimized greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, effective stormwater management, heat island mitigation, ADA accessibility, indoor environmental quality strategies, low maintenance building systems and finishes, and updated security.
