VA Brooklyn – Renovation of Patient Wards 12W and 15W
This project involved providing cost estimating services (30% Submission, 60% Submission, and 100% Submission) for the renovation of Patient Wards 12W and 15W, a total of 17,800 sq. ft spaces. The project estimateswerebroken-downinto(2)-bid packages / phases. Each package had its own protection / sequence requirements. The scope covered asbestos abatement, removals and protection of existing spaces. New construction included interior finishes for single and double patient rooms, isolation and bariatric rooms, nurse stations, and on-call staff spaces. The electrical scope included new lighting and associated controls, new normal power as required by the program, new fire alarm and devices, new nurse call system, and re-programming, and empty conduit for new Tele/Data and security systems. The mechanical and plumbing scopes included new mechanical equipment and distribution, and plumbing fixtures at new toilet rooms, new medical gas piping, and new fire protection to accommodate.
