NYCSCA PS48X Façade Renovation

Bronx, NY

This project involves providing cost estimates at each milestone of the project design for the facade renovation and replacement of the parapet and roof of this existing structure. The Joseph R. Drake School (PS 48), designed in 1914, is a landmark–quality collegiate gothic style structure located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. After decades of deterioration and water infiltration, the school required a complete replacement of its masonry enclosure with a modern masonry curtain wall assembly. This required the replacement of all brick and decorative terra cotta panels, and a complete reconstruction of the portico entrance.
