MBTA South Acton Station, Fitchburg Line
For this project, Ellana provided cost estimating services for the new 130,000sf Bangor Courthouse, in Bangor, ME. We prepared a cost estimate at the initial master planning stage of the design. The building is proposed to be a start-of-the-art, 4-story structure, featuring new courtrooms, chambers, and all court-supported spaces. This project involved providing cost estimating services directly to the program manager under a term services contract, during the construction documents stage for the design of a new, ground-up construction of the South Acton Station on the Fitchburg line.
As part of the ongoing upgrades to the Fitchburg Line infrastructure, South Action station will be rebuilt from 2012 to 2014 as the second track is added to the Acton-Ayer section of the line. The new station will have separate platforms for inbound and outbound service and will be full-length high-level for accessible boarding. They will be connected by a pedestrian bridge which will include ADA-required elevators.
