DESCRIPTION

ELLANA provided conceptual cost estimates for this four-story, 123,130sf commercial building. The building had parking at the below grade and street levels and was designed as a core and shell for future fit out as possible medical offices. The building design was steel frame with concrete on metal deck, and the exterior wall consisted of precast panels with punched openings. There were two unique construction constraints on the project; the first was that the project was located within the line of influence of the railroad tracks. This meant that special attention had to be paid to the foundations of the project as well as the excavation so as to not disturb the tracks. The second was that the project was designed to be built on top of the Brookline 12” sewer pipe. The sewer pipe was located below the parking level and was left in place in the design.
